Described as in a valley surrounded by wooded hills and mountains, a natural and impressive retreat, with its historic beauty and its traditions, Avellino is one of those cities that have to be discovered, with its natural vegetation that makes it one of the greenest areas in Italy.

Looking 3D Campania, it is like having in a single glance the perception of a green sea: a mantle of woods covers  Irpinia, the green heart of Campania, a true paradise for lovers of outdoor  life and sports.

A spell of colors and scents that invites to walk in an intact environment, along routes that reveal spectacular views, ideal to spend some days away from stress and in contact with nature.

A land full of charm with a landscape adorned with an interesting cultural heritage.

There is  a wide range of choices between the Partenio Park, the Park of Picentini Mounts, the new Natural Park Pizzo Alvano Vallo Lauro, the grotto of Caliendo, Lake Conza, the Oasis Valle della Caccia near  Senerchia, the Castle of Leonessa of Pignatelli Princes, cultural heritage of  Irpinia region.

For skiing enthusiasts, we propose pleasant places such as Volturara Irpina or  Bagnoli Irpino near the  splendid Laceno Plateau (renowned the Lak,  ideal for families), all equipped with modern ski- lifts and cozy hotes.

In every season  this region offers the visitor countless pportunities for recreation and intertainment: walking, hiking, trekking, horse riding as well as offering an interesting and varied new lodging capacity that offers accommodation for all tastes and all budgets. World famous for its glorious wine tradition, we have here the production of three DOCG wines: Taurasi, Greco di Tufo and Fiano di Avellino that exalt the typical local gastronomy, quality products and traditional recipes .

The lively city of Avellino, with its rich and troubled history, is mostly modern with long and wide tree-lined avenues, but retains a very interesting historic center, which concentrates most of the monuments. Walking through the narrow streets and squares of the historic center you can visit the Cathedral and its crypt, the church of San Biagio, San Francesco Saverio (known as the Church of Santa Rita); you can see the remains of the Lombard walls on the side of the imposing clock tower, symbol of the city, which from its 40 meters overtops  the roofs of the town. From Partenio  mountains, the Montevergine Sanctuary, famous destination for pilgrims, overlooks the city: you can reach that magical place by a thscenic funicular from Mercogliano, and it takes just 7 minutes!

In addition to archaeological sites, meet imposing castles that bring to memory and looting wars, sieges and battles but also worldly courts and elegant parties.

Among these, the Leonessa Castle in Montemiletto, one of the best preserved in the province of Avellino, the Lancellotti Castle in Lauro, completely rebuilt in the second half of the nineteenth century, and the Castle dominating Ariano Irpino from a strategic location, almost impenetrable,  ancient and generous land that hides infinite paths to be discovered without ever losing the route.
